AAU 2026 Call for Instructional Courses – Comprehensive Guidelines & Proposal Framework

The Scientific Committee of the 23rd Arab Association of Urology (AAU) Congress, held in conjunction with the 4th Saudi Urolithiasis Days, invites experts, educators, and leaders in the field of urology to submit proposals for Instructional Courses to be delivered during the Congress, taking place November 19–22, 2026 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This prestigious joint meeting of the AAU and the Saudi Urological Association (SUA) aims to provide high impact, evidence based educational experiences that advance clinical practice across the Arab region and beyond

Submission Deadline: March 31, 2026

Faculty will be offered a preferred registration rate and are responsible for their own travel, accommodation, and other related costs.

Instructional Course Proposal Requirements

Applicants must submit a complete proposal including the following elements. These components may appear on the Congress website or mobile app, so clarity, accuracy, and audience‑friendly language are essential.

  • Course Title

    A concise, engaging title that clearly reflects the topic and attracts the intended audience.

  • Course Description (brief - up to 100 words)

    A brief overview summarizing:

    • The purpose and relevance of the course
    • The target audience (urologists, residents, fellows, allied professionals)
    • The clinical or scientific gap addressed
    • The value participants will gain

    This description will be used in Congress promotional materials (if accepted)

  • Course Layout (titles of lectures including duration of each) All instructional courses must be 90 minutes in duration.

    Applicants must provide:

    • A structured agenda
    • Lecture titles
    • Duration of each segment
    • Assigned speakers

Important: Proposals must not be commercial in nature or related to the promotion of medical products, devices, or branded technologies.

  • Learning Objectives

    Learning objectives must:

    • Align with the overall AAU 2026 Congress objectives
    • Be written from the attendee’s perspective
    • Use measurable action verbs
  • Faculty
    • Courses should generally include 2-3 speakers. The course director plan to give 1 of the talks.
    • It is understood that faculty has previously agreed to participate should the proposal be accepted for presentation.
    • We ask that you pay particular attention to the geographical and gender representation of faculty. The AAU is an international association and strives to represent the needs and interests of its members from around the world.
  • Brief Literature Review

    A short, referenced review (5–10 citations) that:

    • Identifies unmet educational needs
    • Highlights gaps in current practice
    • Supports the relevance of the proposed course
    • Demonstrates the scientific foundation of the content

    This section strengthens the proposal’s academic credibility.

Session Chair Responsibilities

The applicant of an accepted proposal becomes the Session Chair and is responsible for:

  • Completing all planning requirements by deadlines
  • Maintaining communication with the organizing committee
  • Coordinating with faculty and confirming participation
  • Ensuring lecture timing, content alignment, and avoiding overlap
  • Reviewing all messaging and session flow
  • Moderating the session (welcome, introductions, Q&A, closing)
  • Ensuring timely execution of the 90 minute program

A co chair may be added to assist with these duties.
